Summer Law Student Intern Program

Each summer for the past 8 years, your local Bar has helped to provide professional enrichment and development to summer law school interns from private law firms, non-profits, Pisgah Legal Services, the Federal District Court, and other legal entities throughout Buncombe County. Facilitated by Pisgah Legal Services and funded by the 28th JDB, this program creates a foundation for law students to understand the importance of pro bono work within our community and the legal profession, and fosters a camaraderie that encourages the interns’ future involvement in pro bono work.

Funding from the 28th Judicial District Bar enables PLS to host a variety learning opportunities and professional development events, including meeting with judges from all the local courts, including the Cherokee Tribal Court.

Please contact Parker Smith at Pisgah Legal Services (parker.smith@pisgahlegal.org ) to make sure your summer intern is included in this program.
