High School Moot Court Tournament Needs Volunteers

The National Christian Forensics and Communications Association is delighted to announce that Moot Court will be included at the Black Mountain, North Carolina National Open for the second year.  We are excited to be hosting this event at Ridgecrest Conference Center, Monday, February 5.  NCFCA is the third largest Speech and Debate League in the country and serves the growing home school community.

We are seeking volunteers (pro-bono) from the legal community to assist with judging this competition.  Your role will be to listen to two teams of students present oral arguments, question the counsels as they present, and then provide written feedback and ranking.

The time commitment for one round of Moot Court is approximately two hours from start to finish. This includes a short orientation, the round itself, and time to complete the ballots. If you are able to judge an additional round, the time added is approximately an hour and 15 minutes. All volunteers will be encouraged to read the bench memorandum and tournament rules provided via email approximately two weeks prior to the event.

To register, simply visit www.NCFCAJudges.com and submit your information. You will also notice there that we offer several other types of debate and speech events. If you are available to judge any of those events, we would welcome your participation!
