The Overview of Special Proceedings: Foreclosure, Partition, Estate Administration, and Guardianship CLE provides a general overview of the most common special proceedings, including foreclosure, land partition, estate administration, and guardianship.
Johanna Finkelstein, Assistant Clerk of Superior Court for Buncombe County, will begin with a presentation on Foreclosure Proceedings, including process, procedure and common mistakes.
Tikkun Gottschalk, will discuss the elements of proof, general procedures, and special circumstance procedures for Land Partition Proceedings.
Tiffany Tyler, Assistant Clerk and Scott Coates, Deputy Clerk of Court for the Estates Division of Buncombe County, will co-panel a discussion on Estate Administration Proceedings, including basic procedure, best practices and common mistakes.
Tim Tyson and Cynthia Alleman will co-panel a discussion on Guardianship Proceedings, including types of guardianships, procedures, and best practices.
The CLE is presented through a partnership with the 28th Judicial District Bar and the Young Lawyers Division of the 28th JDB. Local YLD members are encouraged to sign up, and will pay only $12 for the four-hour program. Non-YLD Members pay only $100. Approval from the NC State Bar CLE Board is pending for four (4) hours of general credit.
